The CrMS finally allows a woman to unravel the mysteries of her menstrual cycle. An authentic language of a womans health and fertility.A consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, Dr. Wanda Alli-Balogun, has advocated the adoption of a novel method of treating infertility in Nigeria.

Alli-Balogun made the call at a seminar on “A woman’s challenge,” organised by the Lekki Club for Ladies and Doctors’ Health Initiative in Lagos on Tuesday.

At the seminar, the consultant called for the adoption of a method, Creighton Model Fertility Care system.

According to him, it is a natural method which allows women’s health problems to be solved in line with her fertility cycle.

She stated that although the method was new, it had recorded 80 per cent success, unlike invitro-fertilisation, which success rate was 30 per cent.

In her address, the President of DHI, Dr. Obi Ideh, said that women facing infertility problems should remember that it would not lower their dignity.

She also advised mothers to show love to infertile women. According to her, they should not turn their medical problems to social status.

“We have to look for creative solutions that will be physically and psychologically healthy. There are remedies, but it is necessary for every woman to know her cycle and understand the way her body functions,” she added.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.

Great post. I have used NFP, specifically Creighton for years. It helped me conceive three times (2 children and 1 miscarriage). I just turned 40 and am hoping to use it to conceive again. My grandmother was 41 when she had my mother (no ART). So I am hopeful. How many chilren could you possibly have (naturally) in your 40s? It seems difficult to find info on natural births (although I have heard of a natural birh as late as 48). Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Don't just sit there, reading this story or article - say something! Do you believe it? Do you think it is impossible? Do you wish it was you? Do you have a story to share (it might get published!)
