Male infertility is a problem that has been plaguing couples for a long time. Thanks to medical breakthroughs, today, there are several methods to help couples conceive. According to consultant gynaecologist Dr Rishma Dhillon Pai, when a couple fails to conceive even a year after trying for a baby, it is labelled as infertility.
“The man is responsible for infertility in 30 to 40 per cent of the cases. The semen analysis may show low sperm count or movement (normal is more than 20 million sperms/ml and more than 50 per cent motility) or in some cases, no sperms in the semen sample,” she says.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
