Think Twice Before Touching Fertility Statues

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (CBS) ― Thousands of women say their wish came true after they come in contact with a set of statues, wooden figurines from Cote d'Ivoire believed to grant fertility to whomever gives them as much as a stroke.
It's a phenomenon that draws women worldwide to see if there's some truth behind the folklore.
Some of these women were told by doctors that they'd never be able to conceive. With just a touch of a hand, they say, things changed. Some avoid the statues for the very same reason!
The statues will premier in Hollywood on May 2, 2009, at Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium.
Would-be parents are invited to come in and touch them for free during regular business hours, 10 a.m. - midnight daily.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
