What happens when a couple can't conceive after years of trying? What awaits two people who want to be parents, as they move away from the fertility treatment/adoption/mommy-and-daddy track?
Silent Sorority offers an honest look at a segment of society that is at best overlooked, and at worst, marginalized. With humor, poignancy, and grace, this book examines a little-acknowledged path and sheds light on the lasting impact infertility has on relationships, identity, and planning for the future.
Pamela, shattered by her experience, goes about the difficult business of rebuilding herself and her life as a “non-mom” in an era dominated by Mom's Clubs and helicopter parents. Along the way, she discovers a welcoming sisterhood whose nurturing fellowship provides the foundation for a rebirth. This is the story of how a (barren) woman gets busy, angry, lost and found.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
