Older mums deliver baby boom

OLDER women who delayed having childrenOLDER women who delayed having children and are now playing "catch-up" have helped Australia's fertility rate recover to a record level last year.

More women aged in their 30's and 40's are now having babies, helping produce a record 285,254 registered births in 2007.
