Q. How did you become interested in fertility issues? What percent of your practice deals with fertility issues?A. I became interested in fertility issues after finding that (infertility) was increasing in the population at an alarming rate -- and it was a common complaint with my patients since I specialized in women's health disorders.
Since Western-medical fertility treatments are usually not covered by health insurance, and in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles can cost from $10,000 to $15,000, I thought it was reasonable to offer Chinese medicine to those who couldn't afford IVF cycles and to offer it to those undergoing IVF to help increase their success rates.
